Baby Jenne- Thoughts From the Beginning

We found out I was pregnant on January 31, 2015. I hadn't been feeling all that great and was late but had taken a test a couple weeks earlier which was negative but was still very late, so I had made an appointment with the doctor to try and figure out what my body was doing. I had decided to not take anymore tests and just wait to see what happened at the doctors. A couple nights earlier we had just found out that Karl and Emily were expecting and we were so excited for them but it made me so anxious to know if I was too or not. It was all I could think about! So one morning after a night of tossing and turning over it, I got up at like 7 and went to the store to get a test. I went in, did my business, and went in laid in bed. Since I was so anxious I hurried back in to see and there it was, two lines! One was so faint that I didn't quite know what that might be, so I ran into our room and said, "Um, I think we might have something to be excited about?!" We were excited but a little skeptical, so a couple days later I took another test and it came out positive too. We were pretty thrilled. (I feel kinda weird posting pictures of pregnancy tests on here but hey its my blog right? so sorry for the TMI)

According to when my last period was I thought I was about 8 weeks along so I called the doctors office where I already had an appointment to change it to a prenatal appointment instead. We had kind of decided to wait to tell anyone til after my doctors appointment but I was just too excited and after some convincing I had Nick talked into it. I had bought this onesie a couple months earlier because I thought it was just too cute and had to have it. So we put it in a box and wrapped it. We decided we wanted to try and be sneaky so I told Darcy to come into the back room with me. I asked if she wanted to open it and she said yes so I told her to tell everyone that she had found a left over Christmas present in the back room. (Nick said that I was bad telling Darcy to lie like that but it was all for fun right? :) ) She was all for the plan then Ezra ran in and I figured our cover was blown haha but Darcy went right out and said that she found it and Ezra yelled, "Ya and Alyssa says we can open it!" It kind of gave it away but it was really cute and everyone was still pretty surprised! We face-timed my parents later that night and they were equally as surprised and excited. We sent the picture below to all our siblings that weren't with us as well.

I had my first doctors appointment on Feb 10th, I was so so nervous for my ultrasound, I thought for sure they would just be like uh nope, you're wrong, no baby. Thankfully that didn't happen but we did find out that I wasn't as far along as we thought. I was only like 4 weeks instead of 8 so that was disappointing. All you can see in the ultrasound is a black dot but we still love that little dot so much! This put our due date at Oct 12th, just 6 days after Emily's due date.
I had been feeling pretty nauseous but hadn't didn't thrown up all that often. I was really worried about going to Mexico because I'm a pretty horrible flyer anyway, so being extra sick on top of that made me worried. Thankfully I actually started to feel better a couple days before and felt pretty good most of the time. We went snorkeling and I got sick in the boat and sick on the flight home, but other than that I did good. We got home and I had another appointment where we panicked a little due to the nurse thinking I was farther along than I actually was and not being able to find the heartbeat, but we just went down to ultrasound and got it all straightened out. I got my blood tests done and it turned out that I was slightly low on my progesterone levels so I started taking pills and going to weekly ultrasounds to make sure everything was growing right. It was so fun to see our little baby every week and how much it would change in such a short amount of time.
I totally think it looks like a mouse in this ultrasound. We were catching lots of mice in our house at this time so that might be a factor into why I thought that.
This was the appointment for me when it really hit me that holy cow there's actually a baby inside me. It totally looks like a little person and it was moving so much during the ultrasound. The ultrasound lady is always surprised how much the baby is wiggling, hopefully it slows down before it gets here or we may never sleep. :)
I started feeling better around week 14 or so not so nauseous all the time. I get heart burn at night right about the time we go to bed but if I just take some tums it goes right away. Waking up in the night to have to go the bathroom is frustrating and I know it's only gonna get worse. I'm definitely getting bigger and starting to show a little more every day. Also clothes are starting to struggle. I basically just live in yoga pants cause that's all that fits currently. I have gotten some really cute maternity clothes so I'm excited to start using those! We are also looking forward to finding out the gender soon! I kind of hope it's a girl and Nick is hoping for a boy. Of course we will be happy with either. I keep having dreams that we are at the ultrasound and it's a boy and I just cry in the dream (mom of the year right! haha) so I'm trying to prepare myself for that :) Speaking of dreams I have had the craziest basically the whole pregnancy. I have had like 5 were Nick is leaving me for a another girl, wake up crying and then have to wake up my poor husband cause I'm so sad haha ohh the hormones.
 17 weeks

Mostly we are so excited to be parents. I know this is right and what we are suppose to be doing. We feel so blessed that Heavenly Father would trust us with one of his precious children. We are excited to be on the journey together. We love you baby Jenne and can't wait to meet you!

Holy Moly a GIANT recap!

We have had a busy beginning of the year. We have been so blessed and are loving this adventure we are on together. I'm going to try and do a rough sum of what's been going on and how our lives have changed for the better!

Since my last post we have celebrated Christmas, went to Island Park with everyone, Nick got a whole year older, I figured out that I could graduate earlier, went to Whidbey Island, rode a ferry for the first time, learned how to make pie from Grandma Jenne, found out the we were getting another niece or nephew Yay Karl and Emily! Ezra has learned to love his motorcycle, We went to Mexico on Vacation with our friends, Nick's parents have started to begin the process of getting a new house, We rode motorcycles and played volleyball ALOT. We have moved back to Idaho while Nick finishes his last semester of school!  We have loved every minute of it but the most excited thing so far has been, We found out that we are having a baby!
Wooo-hoo right?! Now the rest of this recap will seem boring but this news deserves its own post so go to the next one for all the details!

Our First Christmas Tree. slightly Charlie Brownish but we loved it.

The Shepherds and their lone sheep.

We love going to Island Park every year. We laugh, play games, eat a ton of food, and go on snowmobile rides until we get too cold.

We celebrated Nick's Birthday in Island Park but I let him open his present early. I tried so hard to surprise him this year with a new GoPro and he guessed it like the day before he got it. So mad haha He had quite the caveman beard going on here also.

I can't even remember what holiday it was but Ashley didn't have school, and I had said that I've never been on a ferry before, so we did an impromptu trip to Whidbey Island. We did some shopping and stayed the night in Seattle, then got up early the next day and headed to Camp Casey and then to a cemetery where some of Nick's relatives were buried. It was such a fun trip with everyone!

On the Ferry

I thought this was funny all the boys (except for one who is afraid of heights) standing beyond the danger sign. Clearly not worried.

Learning from the Master of Pie Crusts.

 Isn't she the cutest grandma?

Matthew was making silly faces.

For our anniversary in March we went to Mexico with Jefferson and Karalee. We had so much fun! We stayed at the Barcelo in Puerto Vallarta. We ate yummy food, relaxed, swam in the Ocean, went snorkeling, walked around the city and loved it. We failed at taking pictures of course but we were just having too much fun!

Jefferson and Karalee dancing on stage.

This was a private beach we went to one day. We got to snorkel and lay out all day it was such a blast.

A couple days later we went on another excursion where we stayed in this little cove of islands and got to snorkel and paddle board and swim to this secret beach (Nick has pictures from that somewhere).

We have been so busy and having so much fun. We are so excited for what's ahead too. Sorry for the super long recap!
